Information Regarding Medical Misions
In order to temporarily carry out practices in the country, Medical Missions to Peru must meet the following requirements to receive the appropriate authorization from the Ministry of Health.
1.- A letter from the foreign Medical Mission adressed to Ms. Liliana La Rosa Huertas, Director General of International Cooperation, Ministry of Health, providing the following information:
- Basic information of the foreign institution organizing the Mission, including its contact details;
- Basic information of the organization in Peru that invites the Mission, including its contact details;
- Dates for the proposed health activities;
- Objective of the Mission (what kind of care will be provided, targeted population, etc).
2.- List of foreign doctors and other medical staff that will be part of the Mission, specifying their specialty. Please, make sure that the copy is legible.
3.- Copy of the passport of each member of the Mission. Please make sure that the copy is legible.
4.- Copy of the university diploma of each member of the Mission. Please make sure that the copy is legible.
5.- If applicable, the list of medical equipment and drugs that the Mission wishes to bring into Peru to be used in its activities. Such list shall distinguish between objects to be donated and the material or equipment that enters the country on a temporary basis. The drug list must indicate the international nonproprietary name, amount and expiration date thereof.
6.- If the Mission brings into Peru equipment on a temporary basis the Peruvian medical centre who will benefit from the medical practices should provide a letter guaranteeing that the equipment will leave the country at the end of the Mission.
Please bear in mind that all the above requirements are essential and all must be forwarded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru at least one month in advance.
